last night i was asked to be a VIP guest @ earls 'summer patio party' to celebrate the launch of their new summer menu, a task i take pretty seriously, excitedly, and with a date in tow.
although mother nature didn't particularly feel like cooperating and must have missed the menu about summer=sunshine=patios, we still managed to get a taste summer as we dined inside on bold & fresh flavours while sipping on refreshing spirits. it also helped that a lively vibe filled the place, the tunes were cranked, and the umbrellas were brought inside.
here are just a few of the seasonal items that we selected to try. in my next life i'm going to request a larger stomach so that i can sample all of their dishes, but in the meantime it just means another trip back to earls to tackle the remaining items. #patiotimewithfoodandfriends
cabin fever | crown royal, tawny port, ginger, pineapple, fresh lemon + moondog bitters
lychee lemonade | smirnoff vodka, lychee liqueur + fresh lemon
los cabos chicken tacos | spiced tomato poached chicken, cheddar and jalapeño jack cheese, avocado corn salsa, cilantro, valentina hot sauce, white corn tortillas
bbq pork buns | hoisin hot sauce, cilantro, roasted peanuts
champagne berry spinach salad | seasonal berries, avocado, goat cheese, red onions, toasted almonds, champagne vinaigrette, grilled chicken
prawn + quinoa salad | avocado, feta, strawberries, candied pecans, citrus honey vinaigrette
